The 3rd Edition Hong Kong January Jewellery Show

The 3rd edition Hong Kong January International Jewellery & Material Show (formerly Hong Kong January International Jewellery and Watch Show) will be relocating. With the buyers' & sellers' great support, Hong Kong January International Jewellery & Watch Show since 2006, was welcomed with high praise and solid industry support. Next the September Hong Kong Jewellery Show in Wanchai to be held from 23-27 September 2007, now was hailed as one of the best strategically events in the industry.

After input and guidance from many past and current exhibitors and global buyers, the January Show will be moving to the downtown premier business location – "Hong Kong Exhibition Centre" (HKEC) in Wanchai, Hong Kong. This will be a favourable place for January Show moving forward and will allow the show management to meet the growing needs of global exhibitors while giving buyers a single exhibition hall that is easier to navigate.

The First Global Trade Event Of The Year 2008
After the successful launch in January 2006, exhibitors and trade buyers have returned in droves for the second edition. The move in January 2008 hopes to eliminate this positive dilemma. At the January 2007, 121 exhibitors from 16 countries presented their latest products and gem materials for the global jewellery professionals. For the third edition scheduled to take place January 6 – 9, 2008, the flourishing newcomer to the Asian market will settle its roots into the downtown premier Hong Kong Exhibition Centre.

Mainland China Becomes World's Most Potential Luxury Market
Since year 2000, GDP growth in mainland China has risen at a steady 8 to11 percent, helping boost income per capita and consumer spending. Meanwhile, the recent rapid liberalization of the controlled economy has given rise to a flock of successful entrepreneurs and middle-class families eager to spend their millions.

According to a research by Ernst & Young in 2005, China will become the second largest luxury consumer in the world in 2015. In 2006, the sales volume on China's jewellery market is about 21 billion US dollars (RMB 140 billions). According to the report, the annual growth rate of the luxuries market in China will reach 20 per cent from now on to 2008. Then the growth is expected to slow down to about 10 per cent annually between 2009 and 2015. Further to the research, China will replace the United States in 2015 to become the second largest luxury consumer in the world.

January: The Right Time for Global Jewelers
This January Show is designed to give international trade buyers (especially those from Chinese mainland and Southeast Asia) a buying opportunity closer to the biggest Chinese holiday season when they really know what their customers want and the market trend is clear.
